Club refuse to ‘throw in the towel’ to sign €6m Fulham forward

Las Palmas are refusing to ‘throw in the towel’ for Fulham striker Carlos Vinícius as they try to sign a striker this summer.

That’s according to Atlántico Hoy, who say the Spanish side ‘long for’ the Brazilian striker but may find a deal hard to get over the line.

The newspaper explains that after signings a goalkeeper, two wingers, a midfielder and two attackers they still want more and a centre-forward is chief among their plans.

However, Las Palmas ‘do not throw in the towel’, specifically sports director Luis Helguera, who is a ‘fervent enthusiast’ of what Vinícius offers.

He has ‘maintained contacts’ with the footballer’s representatives and are keeping an eye on Fulham and their transfer business. They are ‘waiting for an opportunity’ and belief the recent arrival of Raúl Jiménez at Craven Cottage could open up the possibility of a deal happening.

There is also the possibility that Aleksandar Mitrovic could leave for Saudi Arabia and if he does, Fulham may enter the market for another striker and let Vinícius depart, perhaps even on loan.

He is not the only striker that Helguera and the club are looking at, but he is very much an option that they’d love to sign if the possibility is there.
